Reading will be holding a Family Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August, in association with the Reading Evening Post.
That day, the Racers take on the King's Lynn Stars in a Premier League meeting, which promises to be a mouth-watering encounter. The meeting is sponsored by, and in association with, the Reading Evening Post.
The management will be opening-up the gates at an earlier time than usual, so that supporters can have the chance to see behind-the-scenes and take part in a number of activities!
There will be a range of different things going on, such as guided pit-walks, accompanied track walks, face painting, the 'Beat the Starter' Grand Final, kids track races, mascot races and a whole lot more.
A select few of the London Irish Rugby Club's players will also be attendance, so the Reading Speedway supporters will have the chance to meet them and obtain autographs.
The Evening Post are media partners to the Racers this season, and have provided great support and coverage to the club over many years. There will be posters of the 2008 team in each one of the newspapers available to buy on the day, so supporters will be able to take them along to the pits and get them signed by the whole team.
Club owner Mark Legg said: "To celebrate the summer season and this August Bank Holiday, we thought we would put on a very special event at Reading Speedway.
"Therefore, we are going to open up the gates early and give supporters the chance to join in the holiday atmosphere.
"There will be a range of things to see and do, including track walks for everyone and kids races on the circuit.
"We hope everyone will enjoy the day and show their support for the Racers in the build-up to what is a huge Premier League fixture against King's Lynn."
