On Sunday 10th August the Falcons entertain Bury CSC at Redbraes in the Northern League.
Although Bury are currently not as strong as in previous years they will be hoping to bring as strong a squad as possible to Edinburgh. Edinburgh based Mikey Hewitson may not have recovered sufficiently from his various injuries sustained earlier in the season to turn out for the Greater Manchester side and this may affect any chance they have of leaving the Capital with any points. Tapes are up at 2pm.
The Northern Region of Cycle Speedway racing appears to be split at the moment with Stoke, Hull, and Edinburgh all with full time primary signed riders and most of the time full squads to choose from. On the other hand Bury, Heckmondwike, Stockport and to a lesser extent Astley & Tyldesley, who all appear to have flourishing youth set ups, are struggling to track a full team of primary signed riders at any one time. A mixture of veterans, Unde16’s and secondary signed riders having to be relied upon.
As a region we are all hoping for some guidance and help to come from the British Cycling during the close season.
