Peterborough Speedway: Horton looks for Panthers to raise their game.

Panthers return to Elite League action following the break for the World Cup with another trip to the home of the Belle Vue Aces at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

On the previous occasion in June the Panthers ran the One 51 Aces close eventually losing by just 9 points, on this occasion however they are forced to battle without Hans Andersen who has declined to ride, the Panthers receiving a 14 day facility for the missing no 1 and electing to use Rider Replacement on this occasion.

Peterborough's options however were always limited on this occasion with 8 out of the 9 EL teams in action. 

Ty Proctor the Panthers no 8 rides at no 7 and its fair to say that the team will be looking for more consistent displays from Kenneth Bjerre and Danny King who both had disappointing nights there in June.

It's expected that Joe Screen will be returning to action following his recent injury and the Aces will be again using R/R for the injured Lukasz Jankowski.

Led by ex World Champion Jason Crump and Danish International Charlie Gjedde the Aces possess a lot of top end firepower, as well as good emerging talent and this will again be a tough match according to Team Manager Trevor Swales.

Trevor Swales said: "They are a good side especially on their own track; it was hard enough with Hans Andersen the last time so to be forced into riding with rider replacement this time makes it extremely difficult and Kenneth and Henning are going to have to raise their games considerably from the last occasion.  I will be looking for the boys to pull together and providing they do that I see no reason why we shouldn't put on a good show."

Promoter Colin Horton said: "In view of the problems we have had over this last week, i believe our boys will raise their game, the team spirit will be very good, these boys are professional riders and they have a job to do. This meeting is hard enough, but to go there without our number one will make it a little harder, Belle Vue are a good side especially at home and if they want to win it they are going to have to earn it we will not make it easy for them.  Please support our riders, they will be giving their all for the club, and will continue to do so, we will not stop trying for a top 4 place until it is not possible mathematically. Good luck to our boys."
