WOLEVRHAMPTON riders enjoyed a superb night in Thursday's Speedway World Cup Race-off in Vojens, Denmark.

Teenage sensation Tai Woffinden, 17, scored a magnificent 9-points on his GB debut - and Freddie Lindgren was superb with 14 for Sweden.

It was Sweden and Poland who went through to Saturday's final, also in Vojens, where they will meet Niels Kristian Iversen's Danish team and Australia.

Woffinden said: "I didn't feel any pressure, I just went out there to enjoy it and it did the trick. I really had a great night, it was just a shame we couldn't make it through."

And Parrys International Wolves skipper Lindgren said: "I'm really enjoying this World Cup, I'm feeling good and now I'm looking forward to a rest day before the final. I think we can do it."
