FREDDIE Lindgren is desperate to get back on a bike... after a long line of rain-offs.
Wolverhampton skipper Lindgren lines up for Sweden in the second event of the Speedway World Cup at Coventry on Monday - and he's up against fellow Monmore riders Niels Kristian Iversen (Denmark) and Ales Dryml (Czech Republic).
Great Britain include former Wolves squad member Simon Stead - and all five British riders have vast experience of the Coventry track.
Stead, Chris Harris and Olly Allen are all current Coventry riders - and skipper Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson are former Brandon favourites.
The winner of the meeting goes straight into the final with Australia on Saturday in Denmark - with teams finishing second and third qualifying for Thursday's race-off, also in Vojens.
Said Lindgren: "It's been really frustrating because I've had four straight rain-offs and all I want to do is race.
"Hopefully the weather will hold for Coventry and we can go through to Denmark without the need for the race-off, but there are a lot of good riders."
The next Monmore Green Speedway takes place on Monday, July 21, Wolverhampton v Eastbourne.
