Plymouth make their third attempt to stage the knock-out cup quarter final against Weymouth at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening (7.30pm) after two previous dates have been washed out by the rain.
Providing the Devils can overcome a two-point deficit, they will face Rye House in the semi-final, with the home leg provisionally arranged for the following Friday, August 18.
Plymouth are optimistic of success despite being without Mark Simmonds, who is unavailable, and Kyle Hughes, who is racing for his Premier League club Sheffield at Redcar.
They operate rider replacement for Simmonds while Jamie White-Williams fills in for Hughes.
Sixteen-year-old Danny Stoneman is included at reserve in place of Jaimie Pickard, who is taking a short break following a disappointing run of form.
Jeff Scott will be attending the meeting to sign copies of his latest speedway book “Concrete for Breakfast: More Tales from the Shale”, which has just been published and features almost every speedway track in the country including a Plymouth fixture at Oxford.
Scott can also be contacted through the website: www.methanolpress.com
Plymouth:
Seemond Stephens, Jamie White-Williams, Tom Brown, Nicki Glanz, Mark Simmonds (rider replacement). Reserves: Danny Stoneman, Paul Starke.
Weymouth:
Lee Herne, Brendan Johnson, Luke Priest, Andrew Bargh, Jay Herne, Reserves: Tim Webster, Kyle Newman.
