BERWICK BANDITS

BERWICK have signed Newport’s Tony Atkin who will make his Bandits debut against Scunthorpe next week.

Atkin was made available after the Wasps were forced to withdraw from the Premier League after the sad passing of club owner Tim Stone.

Berwick chief Peter Waite said: “This rider is a true entertainer who thrives on sheer determination to do well and that’s exactly what we need in our side.”

SOMERSET REBELS

SOMERSET have offered to honour Newport season tickets for the remainder of the season at the Oak Tree Arena.

Rebels co-promoter Mike Golding has made the gesture just hours after the South Wales club were forced to sit out the rest of the Premier League season.

He said: “This is our way of giving Wasps fans the opportunity to continue watching speedway, hoping they get their own team back.”
