SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 10 Tuesday July 4th 2006
BAJEN SPEEDWAY - VÄSTERVIK 46-50 (Aggregate: 87-105)
Attendence: 1293
Västervik took all points available at the Gubbängen track. Bajen Speedway had a slim two point lead after twelve heats but Bjarne Pedesen came to life in heat 13 and 15, recording two double victories with Seb Ulamek och Chris Harris to seal the meeting entering the final heat in which Bajen cut the loss to four with a 4-2 with Nicki Pedersen securing his 18 point maximum.

LUXO STARS - INDIANERNA 47-49
Attendence: 3550
The Indians produced the upset of the year when beating Luxo Stars away. Indianerna haven´t been the best of travellers during a long period of time but they actually have three straight away meetings without a loss. The home team started with a 5-1 but Indianerna turned it around and lead by eight after five heats, 19-11, Luxo Stars never recovered from that. Rafal Okoniewski´s second place behind Charlie Gjedde in the first nomination heat sealed the victory before Jonsson/Andersen finished with a 5-1 to minimize the loss.
The leg at Indianerna that was postponed last week has been scheduled for Monday July 17th.

MASARNAAVESTA - ROSPIGGARNA 43-52 (Aggregate: 88-103)
Attendence: 3075
A full strength Rospiggarna took advantage of the understrength and out-of-form MasarnaAvesta who seems to have gone paralyzed when Tony Rickardsson took his time out. Leigh Adams was in superb form once again but he alone couldn´t stop the away team. Rospiggarna had three heat leaders with double figures and their reserves outscored the home reserves 13-8. With their team at full strength, Rospiggarna will provide stiff competition for all teams in Elitserien, and they could still be a team of the Play Off.

VARGARNA - PIRATERNA 46-50
Attendence: 2133
The Pirates took a crucial away win in the bottom of the table when they visited their neighbours, the Wolves. Vargarna came back from a 26-34 to tie it at 36-36 and it was still tied with one heat to go, a heat in which the away duo gated to take a double victory to push Piraterna past Vargarna. Olsson beat Loram and Bergström beat Sullivan during the night but the lack of a consistent top end fire power, a.k.a Grzegorz Walasek, looked to have been the difference this time.
The leg at Piraterna that was postponed last week has been scheduled for Monday July 17th.

SMEDERNA - VMS ELIT 37-59 (Aggregate: 81-113)
Attendence: 2780
The World Cup break can´t come soon enough for Smederna, with Kasprzak, Hamill and Puszakowski all out with injury, the meeting against last years finalist VMS Elit was too much of a mountain to climb. The Blacksmiths started well but even though last years VMS Elit rider Wieslaw Jagus rode extremely well for his new club, the lack of back-up proved costly. Most heats were hardly fought though and not before a heat thirteen 5-1 for VMS Elit the win felt comfortable (from a VMS Elit fan point of view anyway).
Smederna (home) 37 (81)
1. Robert Sawina 2-2-1-1-0-0 = 6 (6)
2. Eric Andersson 1*-1-0-N-0 = 2+1 (4)
3. Scott Nicholls 2*-2-R-0-0 = 4+1 (5)
4. Kim Jansson 3-0-1-1-1 = 6 (5)
5. Wieslaw Jagus 3-3-3-3-2-2 = 16 (6)
6. Andreas Lekander 1-Ef-0-N-0 = 1 (4)
7. Joakim Brolin N-N-N-N = 0 (0)
8. Linus Eklöf 0-2 = 2 (2)
VMS Elit (away) 59 (113)
1. Lee Richardson 3-3-2-3-1 = 12 (5)
2. Peter Ljung 0-1-1*-0 = 2+1 (4)
3. Jaroslaw Hampel 1-3-2-3-3 = 12 (5)
4. David Ruud Fx-3-1-2*-2* = 8+2 (5)
5. Rune Holta 2-3-2-1-3 = 11 (5)
6. Robin Aspegren N-N-N-N = 0 (0)
7. Tomasz Jedrzejak 3-1*-2*-1 = 7+2 (4)
8. Thomas H Jonasson 2*-2*-0-3 = 7+2 (4)
Changes:
2: Brolin > R/C > Eklöf, Aspegren > R/C > Jonasson
5: Brolin > R/C > Lekander, Aspegren > R/C > Jonasson
9: Lekander > T/S > Nicholls
10: Brolin > T/S > Jagus, Aspegren > R/C > Jonasson
11: Brolin > R/C > Eklöf, Aspegren > R/C > Jonasson
13: Andersson > T/S > Sawina
1 [61.8]: Richarson, Sawina, Andersson, Ljung. 3-3, 3-3.
Richardson shot from the tapes, Sawina was all over him but couldn´t find a way past him. Behind them, Andersson was harsh - but fair - to Ljung on bend three to open up some space between them which Ljung couldn´t fight back.
2 [62.7]: Jedrzejak, Jonasson, Lekander, Eklöf. 1-5, 4-8.
Comfortable double victory from the gate with Jedrzejak and Jonasson team riding even though Lekander wasn´t particulary close.
3 [62.6]: Jansson, Nicholls, Hampel, Ruud (Fx). 5-1, 9-9.
Ruud had a long journey by Nicholls on bend three of the opening lap, fell and got excluded, a decision which looked to be correct. Hampel, who lead when the heat was stopped, missed the gate in the re-run and couldn´t find a way past a team riding Witches duo.
4 [60.9]: Jagus, Holta, Jedrzejak, Lekander (Ef). 3-3, 12-12.
Good battle between Lekander and Jedrzejak with the former suffering mechanical gremlins while third on the second lap. Shortly after that, Jedrzejak suffered a puncture but he was able to finish to save a tied heat.
5 [61.4]: Ruud, Jonasson, Andersson, Lekander. 1-5, 13-17.
From the gate. Andersson was all over Jonasson and almost passed him after a couple of laps but Jonasson held on for a crucial double victory.
6 [61.2]: Richardson, Nicholls, Ljung, Jansson. 2-4, 15-21.
Richardson chased Nicholls like a mad man, inside and outside, and finally was able to blast around Nicholls on the final bend for the win. Ljung comfortable in third place.
7 [60.6]: Hampel, Sawina, Ruud, Andersson. 2-4, 17-25.
Hampel passed Sawina on the outside on bends three and four of the opening lap. Ruud came closer to Sawina as the heat went along but wasn´t really close to try a pass.
8 [62.0]: Holta, Jedrzejak, Jansson, Nicholls (R). 1-5, 18-30.
Holta by miles. Jedrzejak was closely followed by Jansson throughout the heat but held on for the paid win. Nicholls retired while last on the final lap.
9 [61.1]: Jagus, Richardson, Ljung, Nicholls. 3-3, 21-33.
Big distances between all riders.
10 [61.0]: Jagus, Holta, Sawina, Jonasson. 4-2, 25-35.
From the gate.
11 [62.3]: Jonasson, Eklöf, Jedrzejak, Lekander. 2-4, 27-39.
Looked like a 5-1 from the gate but after a tight and "messy" first corner with riders all over the place, Eklöf came out second and held on with ease. Jonasson stayed out of trouble on the first corner and cruised away for the win.
12 [60.9]: Jagus, Hampel, Jansson, Ljung. 4-2, 31-41.
No drama in this one.
13 [61.2]: Richardson, Ruud, Sawina, Nicholls. 1-5, 32-46.
From the gate.
14 [60.4]: Hampel, Jagus, Holta, Sawina. 2-4, 34-50.
Battle between Holta and Sawina entering the first bend, they collided and the heat was stopped. All four back for the re-run which was won from the gate with Jagus suffering his first loss of the meeting.
15 [61.6]: Holta, Ruud, Jansson, Andersson. 1-5, 35-55.
Jansson tried to lay himself on Ruud on the second bend but Ruud moved Jansson out for the paid win.
16 [61.0]: Hampel, Jagus, Richardson, Sawina. 2-4, 37-59.
A 1-5 were on the tapes but Jagus passed Richardson on lap two preventing VMS Elit to reach sixty points.
For Smederna,
Sawina was always in the action and worth more than he got. Andersson can´t be expected to score much more in the main body of the team against a solid top five like VMS Elit. Nicholls looked slow when gating and not able to do anything when behind, some of the home crowd actually booed him when he rode back to the pits, not good... Jansson always tries hard and six points as a second string is definitely OK, solid signing for Smederna. Jagus was excellent, simple as that, guess he wanted to prove a point - or sixteen - against his former club. Lekander had a couple of decent rides and was unlucky with an engine failure while in scoring position. Eklöf had a good second ride and should get more heats during the remainder of the season.
For VMS Elit,
Richardson looked fast, good from the gate as usual but also produced the pass of the meeting when he blasted around his fellow countryman Nicholls in heat six. Ljung doesn´t gate well away from home and finds himself in trouble on the openings bends, at least fought but for little reward. Hampel was solid and won twice against the impressive Jagus later on. Ruud is enjoying a great year so far and was worth all he got. Holta had a solid double digit score, without being flashy. Jedrzejak did his job and produced a crucial 5-1 in heat eight. Jonasson is an extremely good gater for being a junior at this level and even though he lacks speed (which will come with the experience), he will always put himself in scoring positions, and this time he did capitalized on that.
Man of the match: Wieslaw Jagus
Most exciting rider: None in particular
