Edinburgh Speedway: Birthday fans sought for celebration.

This weekend the Edinburgh Monarchs celebrate their 60th birthday – and they are looking for some special fans to help them!

There is a Diamond Jubilee meeting at Armadale on Friday night featuring teams labelled Old Meadowbank, Coatbridge, Powderhall and Armadale.

On Saturday there is a celebration party at the Gorgie Suite in Tynecastle Stadium, and over 80 ex-Monarchs’ riders have indicated their intention to attend.

We are now looking for supporters born on the following dates to help us cut the special birthday cake at Tynecastle on Saturday –

26TH MARCH 1948 – first ever Monarchs meeting at Bristol

17TH APRIL 1948 – first ever home match at Old Meadowbamk

6TH APRIL 1968 – first meeting at the Coatbridge venue

15TH APRIL 1977 – first meeting at the Powderhall venue

4TH APRIL 1997 – first meeting at the Armadale venue
