WOLVERHAMPTON star David Howe slammed track conditions in Germany after booking his place in the semi-finals of the World Championship qualifiers.
Howe scored 11-points from his five rides despite tricky track conditions in Abensberg. The meeting was won by Poole star Davey Watt with a 15-point maximum.
Wolves asset Mikael Max is also through to the next stage after a steady display saw him score 10-points.
How finished third behind Rafal Dobruski and Adrian Rymel in a run-off for second place behind Watt - but he's revealed how he would have been happy to pull out of the race!
"The job was done as far as qualification was concerned and all I wanted to do was go for a shower," said Howe. "The track was a disgrace, it had lumps of dirt in unexpected places and to be honest all four of us in the run-off considered not doing it.
"It's pleasing to be through to the next stage, hopefully I can do well and get through to the final with Grand Prix places on the line."
FINISHING ORDER: Davey Watt 15, Rafal Dobrucki 11, Adrian Rymel 11, David Howe 11, Edward Kennett 11, Tobias Kroner 10, Mikael Max 10. Reserve: Martin Smolinski 9.
