The Mildenhall Barmy Army Fen Tigers were well beaten 60 to 30 by the in form Edinburgh Monarchs.

Mildenhall Promoter Simon Barton was extremely disappointed in the performance, “We were simply outclassed, they were sharper from the gate and we were just never at the races.”

The only real bright spots for the Fen Tigers was a great maximum five one heat advantage by Henning Loof and Kaj Laukkanen in heat 3 and a from the back battling victory by young Finnish star Jari Makinen in heat 14.

Michal Rajkowski had a debut to forget as he bit the dust in his first race after being unable to avoid the bike of Jan Graversen, after the young Dane had picked up a bit too much grip and slid off.

Team Manager Laurence Rogers said, “It was one of those days. We were on the receiving end of a powerhouse performance from the Monarchs who were in fine form. When we gated we scored but we simply didn’t do that often enough. There was a tremendous ride from young Jari in heat 14, hich clearly showed his potential. Jari was also very harshly excluded from his previous ride when Derek Sneddon clearly went into the back of him. The riders will all click together soon and when they do we will hand out some beatings.”
