Cycle Speedway: Manchester League Grand Prix series round 2.

Bury staged the 2nd round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series on Wednesday evening.
A & T rode to a comfortable win in the Senior (Division 1) match with Remi Burchardt racing unbeaten. Dariusz Pilas lost only to Stockport's Terry Norman, but had the satisfaction of beating him later in the match.

Astley & Tyldesley 54 Bury 40 Stockport 15.
A & T: Remi Burchardt 16, Dariusz Pilas 15, Mick Knowles 8, Roy Heslop 8, Andy Knowles 7, Mike Hack 7.
Bury: Neil Howarth 13, Tom Doyle 12, John Whiting 10, Robin Yang 5.
Stockport: Terry Norman 15.
Referee - Alan Taylor (Stockport).
Stockport were clear winners in the Junior (Division 2) match, as A & T just edged out Bury to take 2nd place. A & T's Adam Watson raced unbeaten in the U-10 match, as did Stockport's Ali Lam in the U-13 match and Bury's Leo Brindley in the U-16 match.

The date of the 3rd Round of the series, at Stockport, has been put back one week to Wednesday 28th May.
Congratulations go to Astley & Tyldesley's Joel Partington, who won the British Schools Cycling Association's British U-10 Hard Track Championship at Portsmouth last weekend. He came out on top of a series of three different events at the Portsmouth track.
