POOLE CASTLE COVER PIRATES 53 (Chris Holder 14  Krzysztof Kasprzak 10)
SWINDON ROBINS 39 (Leigh Adams 15)

With three of their regular first team missing through injury, the Castle Cover Pirates looked to have a real battle on their hands in this match against league leaders Swindon, but any fears they had were quickly pushed aside with Poole maintaining their unbeaten home record with a comfortable 53 points to 39 victory.

Pirates had recalled Polish world cup hero Krzysztof Kasprzak in place of injured skipper Bjarne Pedersen and he showed that he had lost none of his track craft by notching up 10 well taken points.  But the real hero of the night was Chris Holder who only dropped one point to the opposition throughout the match.

“ Another superb team effort “ said Poole team manager Neil Middleditch “ Chris Holder’s performance was out of the top drawer, but the rest of the side really gave him great support.”

Any hopes the Robins had of salvaging the match were dashed in Heat 13 when Kasprzak and Watt clung on to second and third places for a shared heat before Eriksson and Skornicki sealed victory in an exciting Heat 14. This really was the race of the night as both Poole riders picked their way past race leader McGowan to receive a standing ovation from the packed grandstands.
