Plymouth Speedway: Devils defeat the All Stars.

Plymouth completed their preparations for the new Conference League season with a 50-40 victory over a team of Conference League All Stars in a challenge match at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening.
Skipper Seemond Stephens dropped a couple of points when he trailed home behind Jack Roberts and Mark Simmonds in the opening race, but was unbeaten by an opponent in his three remaining rides.
His partner Kyle Hughes, who suffered machine problems in that first heat, was also unbeaten in his remaining races, being paid for 12 points.
There were also impressive performances by Nicki Glanz and Paul Starke, who won five races between them.
Simmonds, the former Exeter skipper, did well for the visitors in his first meeting since giving up the sport in 2004. He was unbeaten in his first three races and finished with nine (paid 11) points.

Mark Simmonds 9+2 (5), Jack Roberts 10 (5), Ben Taylor 6+1 (4), Luke Priest 1 (4), Dean Felton 2+1 (2). Reserves: Scott Meakins 2+1 (4), Shaun Harmatiuk 10+1 (6).
