WEYMOUTH Doonan Wildcats entertain the Newport Mavericks select side at the Wessex Stadium in a Challenge meeting this Friday 25th April (7.15pm).
After last weeks double defeat by the Plymouth Devils, the Wildcats will be fighting hard for their first home victory of the season. Poole youngster Kyle Newman is still nursing a broken collar bone and is replaced by Alex McLeod, the remainder of team is unchanged.
Chairman Phil Bartlett said “It’s going to be a tough test against a strong Newport side. There are three ex-Wildcats in the line-up Terry Day, Nathan Irwin and Tom Brown are all very familiar with the Wessex circuit and will be hoping to put on a good show. Andrew Bargh who is our number 8 goes very well at Weymouth as does Matt Wright. Darren Mallett completes the Mavericks line-up and I am under no illusion that this will be a walk in the park for our lads!”
LINE-UPS
Wildcats: 1 Jon Armstrong, 2 Brendan Johnson, 3 Luke Priest, 4 Karl Mason, 5 Jay Herne, 6 Tim Webster, 7 Alex McLeod.
Mavericks: 1 Andrew Bargh, 2 Nathan Irwin, 3 Matthew Wright, 4 Darren Mallett, 5 Tom Brown, 6 Oliver Gay, 7 Terry Day.
