Gary's Night at Paris Speedway The weather was perfect and a large crowd was very appreciative of a good night of racing at Paris Speedway.
With a good rider turnout, the night turned out really well and the welcome of our friends from the P50 & P65's proved to be a great inclusion into the program. The night started with the Division 2 guys going at it, with a mixture of Division 3 riders mixed into the bag! With the returning Scott Collier preparing to take on the Paris track once again, he battled all night with both John Bennett and the ever increasingly confident Tim Murray.
Tim produced some superb riding and showed that he has grown two-fold into a good natural rider. John Bennett again graced the Paris track and showed that he still has the flexibility to adapt to any track and had a superb heat win ahead of the battling Tim and Scott. One heat race involved 2 races - Tim Murray and John Bennett were scraping it out in front of a dueling Graham Wale and Peter Fornal. What a great race for the fans to watch, nothing but great racing from these guys!
The evening finished for the Division 2 final with Tim Murray pulling away from an aggressive Scott Collier, who in turn was being hounded by Graham Wale, unfortunately for John Bennett he got a little bend out of shape and never recovered. Scott Collier fought so hard to break down Tim's momentum but needed another 5 yards, as Tim won the race by just a bike's length. Great racing - Congratulations to Tim Murray!
The P50 and P65's gave us all some great racing. Dalton Gauthier was back in the saddle to take on last weeks champion, Matthew Sahl. In the first heat Dalton flew away and took a great win, but unfortunately this would be the only time that he could do this. The final was a great race and the final outcome was 1st - Braden Vallee, 2nd - Dalton Gauthier, 3rd -Tyler Thompson and 4th - Matt Sehl after falling and remounting. A great display of racing was enjoyed by all! Good Job Guys!
Division 1 saw an unusual sight this night, as the ever-popular man from Langton, Joe Heye took 3 tumbles. Joe went down in the same spot on turn 1-2 after pushing a bit too hard twice and thirdly he was a victim of close hard racing when he clashed with Gary Hesmer in a corner 1 tussle. The heat was restarted and Chris Hesmer pulled a great win ahead of the battling Marc Gauthier and Gary Hesmer. The racing was fast, tight and close, just what the fans ordered!
The Division 1 final was a cracker. Gary Hesmer had been working hard all night to get that perfect set-up and it worked perfectly! Gary had a great start ahead of Chris Hesmer, Joe Heye and Marc Gauthier. Chris pushed Gary very hard and forced Gary to take a good lead on lap 2, behind them Joe and Marc were battling it out and with some good moves, Joe went in and out of Marc to pass in on lap 2, he then went after Chris ducking and diving all around to not only keep Marc behind him, but also as he tried to get passed the fast paced Chris. The checkered flag was greeted by a very happy Gary Hesmer to close a night of great racing at CKPC Paris Speedway! - A great show of riding by Gary Hesmer - Congratulations!
