Short Track Racing Collins takes round 1 of 2010 Pozzani Silkolene Short Track UK Championship.

The Norfolk Arena hosted Round 1 of the 2010 POZZANI SILKOLENE SHORTTRACK UK CHAMPIONSHIP, which saw Aidan Collins take a start to finish victory on his new 2010 H M Plant Honda CRF 450.
Aidan had won his semi and was on pole for the Grand Final, with the winner of the other semi - Glyn Pocklington - next to him on the H4U KTM, CCM's Tom Woolley and Tim Greig on the ASR Honda 450 completed the front row of the grid.
The tapes went up with 12 grand final riders all fighting to get on that blue groove at the first bend. Aidan made no mistakes and hit the front, followed by Pocklington, Woolley, Richard Mason, Marco Belli, Greig, Darren Trapmore, Kevin Doolan, Geoff Baldock, Pete Boast, Derek Brindley and Rusty Hodgson.
The freight train of riders traded places, lap 4 saw Zeata's Marco Belli move up two places into third and Boastie and Brindley were moving up through the field.
Collins was getting away from Pocklington by lap eight but behind him Marco was pulling back the gap to second, 16 year old Woolley was holding onto 4th but had a big frieght train of 8 riders behind him trying to make their move.
Going into the last couple of laps Aidan had 5 bike lengths lead over Glyn "Cowboy" Pocklington and in turn Glyn had the same amount over Marco but the battle behind was intense with Tom still holding off Mason,Trapmore,Greig, Boastie,Brindley and Baldock.
The chequered flag dropped for Aidan giving the first victory in Shorttrack to a works supported Honda in front of his new team Boss Neil Tuxworth, a fine second went to Glyn and the 3 times Champ Italian Marco Belli grabbed the last spot on the rostrum.
