North Quensland duo of Jason Aldridge and Kal Campbell won the 2010 Australian Speedway Sidecar Championship at Newcastle Speedway tonight.
Aldridge started in the worse possible way with an exclusion from heat two for causing defending champions Mark Mitchell/Tom Golding to crash.
Thereafter Aldridge scored 11 points from his remaining four rides, losing only to Treloar in heat 12, to go straight into the final with Rick Howse/Adam Commons, who were unbeaten in the heats, and Teloar/Justin Plaisted (13 points).
The fourth starters were Mick headland/Jesse Headland who scored a convincing win in the semi-final ahead of Mark Plaisted/Jack Spear and Bryen Gates/Michael O'Loughlin. Rusell Mitchll/Tina Karan were non-finishers with a blon engine while running second.
The final was fairly uneventful with Aldridge winning from Howse, Treloar and Headland.
Treloar lost all chance of a sixth Championship win when he got out of shape at the start and lost too much ground.
Mark Mitchell withdrew after his first ride.
