This has been a brutal race season at Mid-America Motorcycle Speedway. Once again the rain that we received over the past few days has forced us to cancel the October 10th event.
Our next race is October 17th. Practice will start at 4:00 and we will race at 6:00. The event that was scheduled for October 31st has been moved to Sunday, November 1st. Practice will start at noon, and racing will start after practice and any necessary track maintenance. There will also be open practices on October 14th, 21st, and 28th.
During the rider’s meeting at the last event, we had to announce a change to the way rider payout is handled. Starting with the October 17th event the Open Quad, 450, Open Bike and Speedway classes will pay back 75% of the entry fees that are collected for that class. All other adult classes will compete for trophies.
We want everybody to understand that this was a very difficult decision to make, but in light of the current economy our choices were to either raise entry fees, or to reduce payout if we were to continue to race at the Marion County Fairgrounds. We hope that every one understands the position that we are in and continues to support the track.
