Cycle Speedway: Report - 2009 Manchester League Grand Prix Round 3.

Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 3 of the Manchester League Grand Prix series on a very wet Wednesday evening at Gin Pit. The track held up well after several days' heavy rain and plenty of good racing was dished up under the Gin Pit floodlights.
 
Stockport took their first win of the series in the Division 1 (senior) match, with A & T pipping Sheffield, winners of the first two rounds, by a single point. Terry Norman raced unbeaten in his first appearance in this year's series.

There was a good turn-out of riders for the Division 2 (junior categories) match, necessitating in 32 races being held over 3 matches. A & T took their second win of the series, beating Stockport and Sheffield, with Bury not present. Adam Watson raced unbeaten in the U-10 category, whilst Kyle Brough and Adam Phillips were joint top scorers in the U-13 category. Dylan Radcliffe and Ben Dickenson both raced unbeaten in the U-16 and U-19 categories respectively.
