The Edinburgh Cycle Speedway Club, the only Cycle Speedway Club in Scotland, is due to host the United Kingdom Home International Cycle Speedway tournament at Redbraes Park, Broughton Road, Edinburgh on 13th June 2009.

Cycle Speedway is not immune to the current economic climate and with just over one month to go to the big day the main sponsor can no longer be involved.  This sponsorship was targeted in securing the temporary track perimeter fencing which was a prerequisite of running the event as set out by the British Cycling Federation.

This has left a significant gap in terms of the Edinburgh Clubs planning for the event and has put at risk the actual running of the tournament itself.

The Cycle Speedway Home International is a key event in the United Kingdom Cycle Speedway calendar and for it not to go ahead would be a bitter blow to the future of the sport in Edinburgh.

If anyone can help or knows of anyone or any groups who could help in securing a temporary fence we would greatly appreciate the help.  This help is required now.
