Mildura’s Leigh Adams looks forward to this weekend’s second round of the World Speedway Championship at Leszno with much anticipation, having won the corresponding event last year.
Adams has called the Leszno circuit his home track in the Polish League for over a decade and this gives him a great chance to move into the championship lead on Saturday night.
“I’m pumped for this meeting and I know the Leszno track very well”, he said.
“I’m not the only rider in the field that is familiar with the track, but I have a special relationship with the whole place and the fans too.
“They are extremely loyal people over there and they will be supporting me 100% I know that for sure”.
Adams finished fourth in round one and says that it was the perfect launching pad for a great season.
“Of course I would have liked to have won in the Czech Republic, but the track was very slick and looking back on it I have to be happy that I got out of it with the points I did. It was very hard to pass and I think a fourth place finish is more than acceptable for round one”.
Adams is about to embark on a busy month in both League and GP racing, but says that it is being busy that keeps him sharp.
“Some people like lots of days off and there has been times when I’ve wanted a break in the past, but funnily enough when the breaks finally come I always want to get back on the bike – crazy isn’t it”?
