Current on track progress was dented by off track indiscipline as the Edinburgh Falcons slumped to a 79 points to 94 Northern League defeat at the hands of Stoke at Redbraes today (3rd May 2009).
Whilst today’s match for the Falcons was always going to be an extremely difficult task against a tough riding Stoke side, the home side did not help their own cause with a series of sometimes inaccurate, but in the most futile, Refereeing challenges.
Although Stoke held the upper hand from heat three the match itself always had plenty to entertain the neutral with some very fast close racing right to the end.
Top scoring for Stoke was Garry Pearce with 18 followed by Lewis Bates and Richard Harrison both scoring 15. Best for the home side was Craig Newsome with 16.
It’s now back to the drawing board for Falcons Team Manager Stevie Gilroy as he seeks to channel the Teams enthusiasm back to on track action as they prepare to defend their Northern Knock Out Cup trophy at Astley & Tyldesley in a fortnight.
