Spectacular sidecar speedway racing takes pride of place at the St Boniface Arena on Friday evening when the Plymouth track hosts the second round of the ACU British Sidecar Championship.
It promises to be an action packed evening featuring the top country’s top sidecar racers over a busy programme of 20 races.
The event gets under way at 7pm with each competitor taking part in two compulsory practice laps before racing starts at 7.15 pm – a quarter of an hour before normal to ensure the full quota of races is completed.
Leading scorers after the first round at Scunthorpe on April 4 are: Mark Cossar/Wilson 20, Rod Winterburn/Gareth Winterburn 17, Gary Jackson/Carl Blyth 15, Ivor Matthews/Ric Macauley 15, Matt Tyrrell/Shaun Yeats 10 and Paul Whitelam/Alan Elliott 10.
Plymouth stage their first match of the new speedway season the following Friday, April 24, when they take on South Coast rivals Weymouth in the first leg of the Devon and Dorset Trophy.
