Motorcycling Australia has approved the dates for the 2010, Australian Solo Speedway Championships.
The first round will take place in Adelaide's, Gillman Speedway on Saturday,January 2, Mildura on the next night, Sunday January 3, with the Grand Final At Newcastle on January 9.
The three Promoting venues are again looking into bringing a container out from the UK for riders to use to transport their bikes out to Australia, "it worked very well", said Gillman Speedway Manager, Dave Parker, "we are trying to iron out a few very, very small bugs in this container deal, like the date it leaves, but all in all, it was a hugh success".
Last season the championship started at Newcastle and the Grand Final was at Gillman, this seasons will go in the opposite direction and start in the west and head east. "The Championship is done and dusted in a week," said Parker,"it makes it attractive for the likes of Leigh Adams and other riders that want to come back and have a good rest from their UK, European and GP commitments, which are in excess of 120 meetings in a 7 month time frame".
There is already a tour coming from the UK through Suffolk Travel to do the Championship Series and the riders contacted have all embraced the container, venues and dates which are to be used next season.
