It is with great personal pleasure that I am able to confirm the recent speculation that Canada's very best will be riding in 2009 - writes David Hensby, President of the Canadian Speedway Racing Association - for the UK's very best, the 2008 Elite League Champions - The Poole Pirates.

Kyle Legault has today signed a one-year deal with Poole and is fulfilling a personal goal for the 2009 campaign.

Kyle spoke with me today, and expressed his delight in signing with a prestigious team in the UK. He said "I am very pleased and happy that I have signed for the 2008 Elite League Champions. I look forward to joining Bjarne Pederson, Chris Holder, Daniel Davidsson and the other new signings, to bring the Championship back to Poole in 2009. My decision to ride in the Elite league full-time has come at a good point in my career. I have had some bad luck in the Premier league and am looking forward to providing the Poole fans with some great safe racing!"

The delight for two of our Canadian Speedway Racing Association executive such as Graham Wale and myself, is that Kyle will be riding in our home town of Poole. Graham and myself are ex-pats who grew up watching the blue and white skull and crossbones flying around the Wimborne Road track. We are delighted as individuals and as an Association, that Kyle will be following in the footsteps of a past Canadian Champion Gary Ford, who rode for Poole many years ago. The fans at Poole will be guaranteed that Kyle will not only produce top class entertaining racing, but that his ambitious path to personal success will be crafted right in front of them.

There is no better place to go than the place of Champions for Kyle. He will see and feel that Poole Stadium will allow him the opportunity to become a champion again. His 3-time Canadian Champion status will be on show and we know, that he will bring great things to the Poole Pirates.

Please join me in offering our sincere congratulations to Kyle Legault in his 2009 racing season and we look forward to seeing him in the blue and white!

David Hensby - President, CSRA.
