Round four of League racing was at the Salisbury track between the Jets , the Dolphins and Murraylands riders.

The home side had the advantage of two swing riders and the crowd that was there was expecting some great racing and they weren't dissapointed.

Not all Cycle speedway races end up in crashes , there is usually some great incident free racing which is usually the faster races and some of the races are tactical races where teams try to slow things up to a pace where they can dictate who is going to be in the best positions at the end of the race.

There were a few of each of these during todays racing with some pretty hefty shunts given out , one resulting in a rider over the pit fence and being excluded!

The teams were introduced as;

the Salisbury Jets

Joel Chadwick

Daniel Bax

Ryan Edson

Dean Jolly

Nigel Greenhalgh (swing rider)

Cody Chadwick (swing rider)

the LeFevre Dolphins

Daniel Pudney

Ty Geertsen

Cameron crisp

Robert Fitzpatrick

Paul White (swing rider)

Murraylands

Bradley Thompson

Daniel Randall

Josh Ritter

Allen Randall

Daniel Thompson (swing rider)

Riding in some early season hot conditions these riders were certainly going to feel it throughout the eighteen races in front of them.I know a few who enjoyed a few frosty ones after the racing.

Race one to get the show on the road saw the home side slot Joel Chadwick and Bax against Pudney and Geertsen of LeFevre  with the Latter taking the first maximum of the meet.

progress score (S) 3 (L) 7 (M) 0

Race two and the Jets bounce straight back with a maximum of their own to Edson and Jolly over Brad Thompson and Daniel Randall from Murraylands.

progress score (S) 10 (L) 7 (M) 3

Race three and a second straight maximum to the Dolphins when Crisp and Fitzpatrick took on Ritter and Allen Randall of Murraylands.

progress score (S) 10 (L) 14 (M) 6

Race four and the Jets use one of their swing riders ,Cody Chadwick , for even scoring with the Dolphins pair of Pudney and Geertsen.

progress score (S) 15 (L) 19 (M) 6

Race five the Jets use their other swing rider , Greenhalgh , along with Joel Chadwick to pick up a maximum over Brad Thompson and Daniel Randall of Murraylands.

progress score (S) 22 (L) 19 (M) 9

Race six and the LeFevre pair of Pudney and their swing rider , White , pick up another maximum over Ritter and Murraylands swing rider , Daniel Thompson.

progress score (S) 22 (L) 26 (M) 12

Race seven and once again there is even scoring between the Jets of Edson and Cody Chadwick and Dolphins pair , Crisp and Fitzpatrick.

progress score (S) 27 (L) 31 (M) 12

Race eight  and the Jets grab a handy maximum with the pairing of Joel Chadwick and Bax over the Murraylands pair of Ritter and Allen Randall.

progress score (S) 34 (L) 31 (M) 15

Well here we are , half way through and theres a great battle going on between the Jets and the Dolphins , theres nothing in it . The Murraylanders were trying hard and had a great support group cheering them on , but lacked the firepower to stop the onslaught.

Race nine and the relentless Dolphins piled on another max from their pair of Geertsen and White over Murraylanders , the Thompson brothers Brad and Daniel.

progress score (S) 34 (L) 38 (M) 18

Race ten saw even scoring between the Jets pair , Joel and Cody Chadwick and the Dolphins of Crisp and Fitzpatrick.

progress score (S) 39 (L) 43 (M) 18

Race elleven and even scoring between the Jets of Edson and Greenhalgh and Murrayland riders Allen Randall and Daniel Thompson.

progress score (S) 44 (L) 43 (M) 23

Race twelve and another max goes to the Dolphins pair , Crisp and Fitzpatrick over Murraylanders , Brad Thompson and Daniel Randall.

progress score (S) 44 (L) 50 (M) 26

Race thirteen saw even scoring between the Jets , Chadwick brothers , and Pudney and Geertsen of the Dolphins.

progress score (S) 49 (L) 55 (M) 26

Race fourteen and for the second straight race there's even scoring , this time between the Jets , Edson and Jolly and Murraylands , Daniel Randall and Daniel Thompson.

progress score (S) 54 (L) 55 (M) 31

Race fifteen  and still another max to the Dolphins by way of Crisp and White over Murraylanders , Ritter and Allen Randall.

progress score (S) 54 (L) 62 (M) 34

Race sixteen , this race had a bit of everything , including a exclusion to Geertsen for barging on Cody Chadwick.Geertsen ended up over the pit wall and Chadwick into it . Both riders re-mounted and finished the race. The score went 6-3 to the Jets of Edson and Chadwick over Pudney. The Jets needed something desperate to get back into it but this wasn't quite enough.

progress score (S) 60 (L) 65 (M) 34

Race seventeen , the Jets have only one ride left and bag on a final maximum from Bax and Greenhalgh over Murraylanders , Brad thompson and Daniel Randall.

progress score (S) 67 (L) 65 (M) 37

Last race for the day ,race eighteen and the Dolphins pair of Crisp and Fitzpatrick rattle off a final max over the Murraylands pair of Allan Randall and Daniel Thompson.

Final score (S) 67 (L) 72 (M) 40

That was a good meet and although the Murrayland boys didn't show it on the score sheet they had a red hot go and if they could race more often along with a bit of training could really make a difference. I know their juniors are starting to come along nicely.

Best for each club , not going neccessarily going by points scored, were for the Jets , Ryan Edson , for the Dolphins throw a blanket over the lot  , maybe Fitzpatrick for his great blocking , couldn't really pick a standout. Finally for the Murraylands club , Daniel Thompson closely followed by Daniel Randall.
