Wolverhampton Speedway: Iversen agony in survival crunch.

Wolverhampton will face a two-leg scrap with Edinburgh or King's Lynn to save their Elite League status after a night of carnage at Peterborough.

The Parrys International Wolves suffered a 67-23 hammering as both Niels Kristian Iversen and Morten Risager suffered injuries.
And Peterborough's talented young British rider Danny King suffered a leg injury which ruled him out after two outings.

It was heartbreak for Iversen, a former Peterborough man, who will miss this weekend's final Grand Prix of the season after suffering yet another serious shoulder injury.

And Risager is struggling for movement in his hand which means both are doubtful for the battles ahead with either of the top two Premier League clubs.

David Howe was also ruled out of the trip to his former club through illness after showing some good form at Birmingham 24-hours earlier.
Wolverhampton can confirm the home leg of their relegation race-off will take place on Monday, October 27.

Boss Peter Adams and club owner Chris Van Straaten will check on the injury situation before making a decision on their line-up.

Said Adams: "If we're without Niels then we will look at a rider who hasn't raced in the UK this season to see if we can sign a replacement for these two massive meetings.

"Niels was in agony, it was a bad crash and on behalf of Wolverhampton Speedway I would like to offer all the injured lads, including Danny King, my best wishes."

PETERBOROUGH:
Karol Zabik 14+1, Claus Vissing 13+2, Kenneth Bjerre 13, Rory Schlein 9+3, Lukas Dryml 9+1, Henning Bager 5+3, Danny King 4+2.

WOLVERHAMPTON:
Jesper B Monberg 7, Morten Risager 4, Freddie Lindgren 3, Ludvig Lindgren 3, Niels Kristian Iversen 3, Nicolai Klindt 3, David Howe R/R.
