This Wednesday at 7:30pm the King’s Lynn ‘Money Centre’ Stars will face the Edinburgh Monarchs in the first leg of the Elite League Promotion Play-Offs, after the Stars beat the Rye House Rockets 97 – 89 on aggregate in the semi-finals on Saturday night.

Stars team manager, Rob Lyon, had a big smile after Saturdays meeting ‘The team raced their socks off and even though it started to get a bit too close for comfort after heat 10 with the Rockets closing the gap to only 3 points on aggregate, Kevin kept his cool and along with Victor secured an 8-1 heat advantage in heat 11 which literally wrapped it all up for us. The boys were really up for it with the 400 plus travelling supporters cheering us on. We can’t wait to meet Edinburgh this coming week, the Monarchs are the league champions and are up for the challenge of promotion to the Elite League just like us, so you will see the two teams battle really hard but in all honesty we have some pay back to do after they secured a draw at King’s Lynn earlier in the season’.

Kevin Doolan was another King’s Lynn Star with a big grin on his face ‘this season is getting better and better for us, I came back to help the Stars make it up to the Elite and still have that dream, every race I go out and feel there is no other option apart from winning, I know the rest of the team feel like that too, I appreciate Edinburgh have had a great season but they are going to find it really tough against a team that are just so up for it!’.

Stars co-promoter, Jonathan Chapman, is already looking ahead to the actual relegation play-off, ‘It will be interesting to see who the winners of this final will face from the Elite League with the bottom two clubs, Wolverhampton and Peterborough, battling it out this coming Tuesday and Thursday. Personally it would be great if we qualified and meet Peterborough but I have a feeling that they are the better team so in all honesty I can’t see it being anyone other than Wolverhampton’.

The Stars once again only have a 5 man team with a guest needed to fill the boots of Shaun Tacey in both meetings, for the home leg the management have booked Isle Of Wight’s Richard Sweetman and for the away leg the Stars have booked Sheffield’s Joel Parsons.

The away leg of the tie will take place at Edinburgh on Friday 17th October and in case of a rain off on Wednesday the King’s Lynn promotion have pencilled in Saturday 18th October as the re-schedule date. Admission prices are Adults £12, Concessions £8, 12-15years £4 and Kids 11 years and under FREE
