Peterborough Speedway will be bringing their 2008 season to a close with a 21 heat Pairs competition followed by a firework spectacular.

Panthers stars Kenneth Bjerre, Danny King, Lukas Dryml, Claus Vissing, Karol Zabik, Henning Bager all feature in the meeting and are joined by several Premier league riders Stuart Robson, Casper Wortman, Simon Lambert, Lee Complin some of whom have guested for the Panthers on previous occasion's as well as the Panthers official no 8 Tyron Proctor.

The meeting will also feature the first British appearance of Mikael Vissing, the younger brother of Peterborough's Claus Vissing, whilst Eastbourne's young star Lewis Bridger who made such an impact for Eastbourne in their recent win at the Showground also rides and the line up is completed by Reading no 1 and Panthers asset Ulrich Ostergaard.

Presentations on the centre green will follow the meeting and their will be autograph and photo opportunities following the farewell parade of the 2008 team.

The pairings will feature one Elite League rider with a Premier League rider, with the meeting using the 4, 3 and 2 points scoring system.

This will be the last chance to see Speedway at the Showground this year and on a Friday as well, and the whole event will be brought to a conclusion with an end of season fireworks spectacular.

All the 2008 team will then be attending the Peterborough Speedway 2008 Dinner Dance which takes place the following day at the Marriott Hotel, (Opposite the Showground) and tickets are still available for that but are now going fast.

Promoter Mick Bratley said: "It's been a frustrating time waiting to know if we will be involved in the relegation play-off's or not, but we as a club decided that we wanted to put on an event to formally close the 2008 season for our supporters.  This is an opportunity for us to test the water, so to speak, with regards to Friday night meetings in the future and the line up is packed full of our supporters favourite riders of not only this season but from previous seasons."
