LAKESIDE HAMMERS

LAKESIDE have signing former Wolverhampton rider Krzysztof Jablonski on the eve of the Elite League Grand Final.

Jablonski will come into the Hammers team to face Poole at Purfleet on Monday after the club acted to replace Lubos Tomicek.

Co-promoter Jon Cook said: "This is the final roll of the dice for us. We wanted to line up in the Final without guests and that’s what we have done."

WORKINGTON COMETS

WORKINGTON skipper Kauko Nieminen expects his season to be over due to a broken collarbone.

Nieminen picked up the injury whilst racing for Elite League Lakeside and will now miss several big meetings for both clubs.

He said: "I expect my specialist to confirm it when I see him on Monday. I was so looking forward to the climax of the season and I'm gutted about the injury."
