The "Buildbase" Glasgow Tigers have one last chance to collect some silverware this season in the shape of the Scottish Cup. However standing in their way are the team who have won the league and the Premier Trophy! Co-Promoter Stewart Dickson is keen to think that the Tigers can come out on top in this meeting at least, although the destination of the trophy will be determined on aggregate at Armadale next week:
"Edinburgh are a top quality side but I think that we are capable of winning this leg and if we can then all we can do is see if we can defend that advantage when we go to Armadale. We will be introducing Peter Juul to the side which I am delighted about and I have the rest of the team fit and able and determined to come out on top. I have spoken to most of the lads recently and they would like to have something for the supporters to enjoy this season as they have had to play second fiddle to our rivals this season.
I am forced to alter the riding order a bit due to Peter's arrival but I hope that these pairings will be able to cope with the strength in depth that Edinburgh have and we can build some lead to take to Armadale next week. Of course we also have the league match the following week to race and although it has lost some of its intensity due to Edinburgh winning the league, I imagine that there will be a few Monarchs fans at that one wanting to tell us all about their win, so this is a chance for us to build up a psychological advantage before that encounter."

THE BEST OF THE REST:
The final senior fixture is scheduled for next Sunday (12th) with the final league meeting against Edinburgh again. The start time will be 4.00pm. Edinburgh were crowned league champions when Somerset failed to beat Birmingham just over a week ago, a result that meant Edinburgh had won the league without needing a result at Ashfield.
The second leg of the Scottish Cup will be staged at Armadale on Friday 10th October with a 7.30pm start.
It is hoped to stage the Heathersfield Golden Helmet on Sunday 19th October for the Northern Junior riders. More information should be available next week.
The Ashfield Classic was won by former Tiger James Grieves in a dramatic final when he defeated the previously unbeaten Rory Schlein. Three time winner Carl Stonehewer was 3rd while Tigers top man Shane Parker was fourth.
Glasgow Speedway are delighted to announce a hotel partnership with the Jurys City Inn in Glasgow, more details will appear in future bulletins. The club would like to thank Paul Bray for his support in this partnership.
Supporters are reminded that the start time for this weeks meeting is 4.00pm.
THE "BUILDBASE" GLASGOW TIGERS WOULD LIKE TO REMIND SUPPORTERS THAT ALL ACCOMPANIED CHILDREN UNDER 12 ARE ADMITTED FREE OF CHARGE EVERY WEEK AT ASHFIELD.
The referee for Sunday's meetings will be Graham Flint.
