Following a successful re-launch earlier in the year the new Bristol Bulldogs Speedway team will be back on track again for the final time this year at near neighbours Swindon. They have been invited to take on Swindon, Oxford and Leicester in a Four team tournament on Sunday October 12 at 6.00pm.
The team for the trip to Wiltshire includes two riders with family connections to the club. Jay Herne, son of former Bulldog Phil Herne will ride along side Jordan Tyrer, son of former Bulldog Paul Tyrer. Cornishman Mark Simmons, who became a fans favourite when he top scored for the Bulldogs at Weymouth in June, will feature along with Russian Seman Vlasov and Weymouth’s Andrew Bargh. The team will again be managed by ex- Somerset Rebel Glen Cunningham from Downend.

Following the match there will be a meeting in the stadium where supporters can meet some former riders and hear how plans to bring the club back to Bristol are progressing. The Bristol Speedway Supporters club are running coaches to the event, and further details can be obtained from Club Secretary Brian Mead on 07765 442443 or at http://www.bbssc.co.nr/
Discussions with the local authority with respect to a new designated site for Speedway to return to Bristol remain progressive, and it is hoped that further details will be able to be released soon. There is now an on-line petition asking the city council to work with the club in order to bring the Bulldogs home. This and further information on the club can be found on the club website at http://www.bristolbulldogs.co.nr
