Lakeside Hammers Swedish star Jonas Davidsson has failed in his brave bid to make it back in time for tonight’s play off semi final against Swindon.
He scored just one point yesterday on his comeback, riding for Bydgoszcz in Poland, and now realises that he is way off from being fit to return to racing.
The Hammers promotion are arranging a practice for him here in this Country and possibly a challenge meeting in the hope that he will be fit for the Craven Shield final and for the play off final if the Essex based Club make it through this evening’s semi final.
The Hammers Co Promoter and Team Manager, Jon Cook, commented: “I had long ruled Jonas out of the play off semi final as no experienced Promoter would expect a rider to return in a meeting of this importance but we will give JD every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of our future meetings as he has played such a big part in getting us where we are.”
Tonight’s meeting against Swindon at the Arena-Essex Raceway gets underway at 7.30pm.
