Coventry Speedway: Match preview - Ipswich Witches v Bees

THE penultimate Elite League match of the season sees the Buildbase Bees return to Ipswich on Thursday for a re-arranged fixture.

The match was abandoned after an aborted attempt to stage Heat 1 earlier in the month, and it now forms part of a double header as Ipswich bid to complete their fixtures in time for the cut-off.

The Witches are hoping to overhaul Swindon and go third in the Elite League table, but they will need to win against both Poole and the Buildbase Bees by a combined total of more than 34 points to do so.

Ipswich face Poole first with the meeting starting at 7pm, with Coventry then competing in the following fixture.

Only a pair of landslide defeats at Foxhall and at Belle Vue on Monday could see the Buildbase Bees drop back into the bottom two, but they are keen to finish the season on a high and add to their away win tally.

They still use rider replacement for the injured Simon Stead but Billy Janniro is back from his successful American Championship weekend, whilst club asset Josh Auty comes in at reserve as Ben Barker is unavailable.

Ipswich's Tobias Kroner faces a late fitness test due to a broken finger, and they are without Jarek Hampel who is riding in Poland - the Witches have stated their intention to use Poole's Davey Watt as a guest against the Bees with Chris Harris stepping into their side in their first match against the Pirates.

IPSWICH: Piotr Swiderski, Tobias Kroner or R/R, Davey Watt, Robert Miskowiak, Rory Schlein, Steve Johnston, Chris Schramm.

BUILDBASE BEES: Hans Andersen, Olly Allen, Chris Harris, Billy Janniro, Simon Stead R/R, Filip Sitera, Josh Auty.
