British Sidecar Championship Round Five, Thursday 25th September 7.30pm, Abbey Stadium, Swindon.
After the success of round three of the British Sidecar Championship in August, Blunsdon once again plays host to the Kings with Wings on Thursday, 25th September. Thursday's event is the concluding round of the 2008 Championship which has blazed a trail throughout England and served up an array of top notch racing.
The Matt Tyrrell /Shaun Yates sidecar outfit head the points table after four rounds of racing, with Rich Moore / Rob Winspear trailing by just two points heading into the concluding round at Blunsdon.
Whilst the leading outfits scrap for overall victory, the battle for a third place finish also continues with vigour. The departed Australian duo of Dave Bottrell / Ben Pitt have 52 points whilst current champions Gary Jackson / Carl Blyth have mustered a creditable 45 point score.
Swindon team manager Alun Rossiter is once again excited by the prospect of Sidecars at Blunsdon:
"When the sidecars descended on Blunsdon back in August we were treated to some superb racing and I expect a similar story on Thursday. We were thrilled by the feedback we received from the competitors and spectators about the quality of racing earlier in the year and are delighted to welcome ther series back.
The sidecars have to be seen to be believed, the horsepower they possess is truly phenomenal and some of the passing manoeuvres last time had me shaking my head in disbelief. If Swindon fans want to see something a bit different on Thursday then I suggest they make their way to Blunsdon!"
