Wolverhampton are the visitors on Thursday in a match sponsored by KRW Racing, which will be the final league fixture of the 2008 campaign.
The Wolves haven't had a good year and currently lie anchored to the bottom of the league table, they are already confirmed as in the relegation play off's and currently await their opponents which will either be us or Belle Vue.
They have made significant changes recently axing Ales Dryml and Kenneth Hansen and their is much discussion as to whether David Howe remains, following him being recently left out of a challenge match against Birmingham.
Fredrik Lindgren, Panthers asset Niels Kristian Iversen and Nicolai Klindt remain as original 2008 starters and have been joined recently by another Panthers asset Jesper B Monberg, Morten Risager who was recently axed by Peterborough and the younger brother of their current Wolves Captain Ludvig Lindgren.
Panthers meanwhile will be going into this match again at full strength and will clearly be looking to finish their league matches on a high. Confidence within the team is very good and the team is riding as a solid unit with no obvious weak links.
Kenneth Bjerre "Wolverhampton have three good heat leaders and we have to be ready for that if they have their gating heads on it wont be easy but I don't see us losing at home anymore. I am confident we will win, hopefully the track won't be so grippy and wet as it was against Ipswich."
Team Manager Trevor Swales said: "We will have to be on a guard a bit just because they are bottom of the league doesn't mean it will be easy and we wont be taking anything for granted, they have several riders Iversen, Monberg, Lindgren and Klindt for example that ride our track very well and we have to make sure we don't slip up. Irrespective of what happens on Thursday, if Coventry doesn't win at Belle Vue next Monday it means we will be involved in a relegation play off with Wolverhampton, but we can cross that bridge if we have to”.
Promoter Mick Bratley said: "This could be an interesting meeting as it potentially could be a dress rehearsal for the relegation play off's, which will take place in early October. Obviously we all hope it isn't, but it will be a good opportunity for us to put out a statement of intent by comprehensively beating the Wolves."
Owner Rick Frost said: "On Thursday we face Wolves at the Showground for our final league match of the season. It has been a down and up season for us this year and I say down and up because when I took over the club things could hardly have more down. Since then the improvements have been clear for all to see. The riders are racing as a team now and spirits are high.I`m confident we can win and finish the league fixtures on a high"
