The first officially sanctioned ACU National Short Track Championship 'doubles-up' as a two day event with Round Five of this year's Short TrackUK title race at Peterborough's East of England Showground this weekend (Sept. 21st. & 22nd.).
The title race currently sees Italian holder of the championship, Marco Belli leading from Pete Boast with a recent convert from Speedway, Aidan Collins) of the famous Collins clan) coming up on the outside in fourth. On of one-time World Speedway number two Les and nephew of 1976 World Champ, Peter, Collins is the man in form having triumphed in Round Four up at Buxton and will be the man to beat at Awalton.
The format returns to the 2007 version for this meeting which takes place in front of the huge crowds attending the British Motorcyclists Federation's 'Tail Ender' event.
The Short Track racing at the BMF Show is at 10.45am and 2pm on the Saturday; continuing at 11.15am on Sunday with the Grand Finals in all three classes (STUK, Thunderbikes and Juniors) at 2pm on the 21st.
