Sebastian Alden has been recalled to the Swindon team as a direct replacement for Travis McGowan.
Alden has made a quicker than anticipated recovery from the broken foot he sustained in the meeting against Belle Vue on 10th July and will return to the Robins' line up for Thursday's home match against Wolverhampton.
Swindon team manager Alun Rossiter explained the decision: 'It was clear for everyone to see that Travis has been struggling for form lately and as a club we felt this could no longer continue. It was extremely hard informing Travis of our decision, but he understood that a change had to be made immediately.
Travis still remains part of our plans for the future and he will spend the Winter in Australia re-discovering his form and confidence. He wants to come back next year and prove to everyone that he's up to the task of being an Elite League rider. Travis still has time on his side and i'm sure he will re-capture his touch in the coming months. His recent scores weren't doing himself or the club any good and he appreciates we had to take action'
Seb Alden has been riding well in Sweden after recovering from his heel injury. We are hoping he can do a solid job for us as we turn our attentions towards the play offs. Obviously Seb is familiar with the set up at Swindon should feel comfortable slotting into the number four berth.'
Alden returns to the Robins' squad for Thursday's (4th September) match against Wolverhampton which is Swindon's final programmed home league meeting of the season.
It is hoped both Mads Korneliussen and Manuel Hauzinger will be fit to take part in the meeting against Wolverhampton.
