Panthers go after more league points on Thursday with their second match of the week against the Eastbourne Eagles from Arlington, Eastbourne has been in the headlines recently following the well documented bust up in the pits between Eagles boss Martin Hagon and Lewis Bridger.
It appears that has now been resolved and Bridger remains with Eastbourne, but that coupled with a poor run of form has seen them drop out of the play off positions and with only 3 matches remaining little chance of rectifying the situation.
The Eagles last rode at the Showground in April, losing by just 6 points after setting off as early pace setters with the A fixture not being settled until the penultimate heat.
This will be the first visit for the season for British Champion Scott Nicholls, who missed the A match through injury and he is backed up by another ex Panther in Lee Richardson who generally enjoys his rides at the Showground and topped scored for the Eagles in April with 12 points.
This years British GP wildcard Edward Kennett completes the heat leader department with Cameron Woodward & Lewis Bridger completing the top 5, early season success had a lot to do with good form from Kennett & Woodward both of which scored well in the April match, but both have had problems maintaining that form recently due to a variety of reasons.
Eagles reserves for this match are Simon Gustafsson who won his first ever ride at Alwalton and James Brundle.
Panthers meanwhile are hoping that Karol Zabik will pass a late fitness check to line up at reserve partnering Claus Vissing. If not No 8 Ty Proctor is available and on standby if needed as his Premier League side Redcar has no fixture on Thursday.
With no other selection problems Panthers will be lining up as per Monday and Team Manager Wayne Swales will be hoping for another solid team display like they produced against Swindon on Monday.
Team Manager Wayne Swales said: "Eastbourne is another strong team, so they need to perform like they did against Swindon. I don't think we need to worry about any team now, the performances we can put forward with the guys that we have got and the confidence we've got should see us through against anybody, it will be a tough meeting but on Monday we were very consistent, and we need to repeat that and to be fair I think we will."
Kenneth Bjerre said: ""I had a slow start to the season and then suffered the bad injury at the end of May. "It has taken me a long while to get going but now my leg is strong, I am feeling good and aiming for double figures in every meeting."
"We have lost at home a few times this season and hopefully that won't happen again because we have the makings of a good team now and we need the points to get out of the bottom two. I definitely think we will manage that because we have so many home meetings to come and the league table doesn't really tell the full story at the moment."
"Things are really good again at the club now and the new owner Rick Frost is a really nice guy. He speaks to me before and after every meeting and I am looking forward to working with him."
Promoter Mick Bratley said: "All of our meetings with Eastbourne both home and away have been very close this season and I don't think this one will be any exception. I do though think we have enough in our side to beat them. We welcome Bourne Publishing Services to the Showground for this meeting in what will be their first venture into Speedway sponsorship.
