PATCHED-UP Wolves were thumped 60-30 by an in-form Belle Vue in Manchester on Wednesday night.
The Monmore men went into the meeting without three of their starting line-up – Jesper B Monberg and Ales Dryml were called back to their home countries and Kenneth Hansen was again feeling unwell.
Their replacement options were limited with rookie teenager Joe Haines along with American youngster Chris Kerr stepping in – and it was too much to ask of the Parrys International Wolves.
Boss Peter Adams nominated skipper Freddie Lindgren for double points as early as Heat 5 after a poor start – but he missed the gate completely and trailed in third behind the home pair of Charlie Gjedde and Patrick Hougaard for an Aces 5-1 to extend their lead to 22-8.
And it got even worse when Niels Kristian Iversen crashed in the early stages of Heat 7 and was ruled out of the rest of the meeting with a shoulder injury.
Young reserve Nicolai Klindt was the shining light for Wolverhampton with a string of impressive wins and his victory over double world champion Jason Crump in Heat 10 was sensational.
But the meeting was over as a contest and when skipper Lindgren was excluded for crashing out of the last race it rubbed salt into the Wolves wounds.
