The latest word on Tai Woffinden, who re-injured his shoulder at Stoke on Saturday (see below) is that the British U-21 champion is expected to be sidelined for one to two weeks.
The Silver Ski Rockets were unable to find a suitable available guest for their Bank Holiday double header and operated Rider-Replacement for these fixtures. They will call on guests for their away matches at Sheffield this Thursday, at home to Birmingham on Saturday and their trip to Newcastle the following evening.
Said Tai of his injury, “I was off the outside gate at Stoke on Saturday, and didn’t make the best of starts, as usual. I had to go wide and I was out in the sloppy stuff after it had rained. My footrest just caught in the air-fence and snapped me over the handlebars. I did the ligaments in my shoulder again; the same one as before.
“I’m just going to wait until it’s healed properly this time. Last time I did it, it was just a week before the Grand Prix at Cardiff, and I really pushed it to get ready for that. This time, I don’t really want to come back until its 100%.”
