POOLE PIRATES
POOLE took another step towards claiming top spot ahead of the Elite League Play-offs with a 54-36 win over Peterborough.
But manager Neil Middleditch insists his side are still taking nothing for granted.
He said: “We still have a job to do and there is still plenty of time for someone to come along and spoil the party. We won’t be getting complacent, that’s for sure.”
WOLVRHAMPTON WOLVES
NIELS Kristian Iversen and Freddie Lindgren were the last heat heroes as Wolverhampton edged out Belle V ue 48-45.
The Monmore men went into the decider a point behind but the Scandinavian duo got the better of Charlie Gjedde and Jason Crump.
Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “That was a sensational meeting in front of a big crowd. We’ve still got plenty to race for this season.”
COVENTRY BEES
BEN Barker played his part in Coventry’s 45-45 draw with Ipswich – after a 96-mile dash from Rye House!
Barker scored nine-points for his Premier League club Stoke and then arrived at Brandon just in time for his first ride for the Bees. He scored 2+2.
He said: “I knew I had to do something because of all the effort made by Coventry to get me here.”
