The winner of 'Rock the Robins', in association with Frequency Magazine is Swindon based Funk/hip hop band 'Beatbullyz'.

The band's track, 'Keyz to Life', will lead the Robins on their pre meeting parade in the crucial encounter with current Sky Sports Elite League Champions Coventry. The band will also be playing live after the meeting in the Middle Bar. The live music is all part of the 'Summer of Speed' family day taking part at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday 21st August, turnstiles open at 5.30pm.

The Beatbullyz have been hotly tipped by 4Music as being one of the best up and coming Live bands, winning themselves an opportunity to perform their track, 'Keyz to Life', on the popular TV drama, 'Hollyoaks' . With their independently released debut album 'Rootz' already causing shockwaves, and a finely polished live show, they are not to be missed.

Their sound is a mixture of high energy fusion of Hip Hop, Street Soul, upbeat Funk and Urban attitude, with Lyrical consciousness and empowering positivity. It was this positivty that won the backing of the Robins' team as captain Leigh Adams explains:

'Swindon is a young and ambitious team, we wanted a band with a similar mindset to lead the boys out against the Bees. The Beatbullyz seem to work very hard to promote themselves and as a Swindon band have achieved great things nationally as well as locally. Their lyrics are very upbeat and inspirational which fits well with the positive attitude of the Swindon team.'

Steve Causer of Frequency Magazine said

'The Swindon music community is a rapidly growing and the Beatbullyz have been involved with putting this scene on the map. It is fitting that a band such as the Beatbullyz are involved in such as an event as Robins family day as they are great at getting involved with the local community beyond the music scene supporting events such as the Swindon Speedway Family Day.'

The sound for the Beatbullyz live set is kindly supplied by Bullysound, who are fast making a name for themselves providing Pa and tech support at many national festivals as well as local events. Visit www.bullsound.co.uk for more details.

The Beatbullyz debut album 12 track album Rootz is available now on Itunes and cdbaby now, and can also be seen at this weekends Invincible festival.
