Rob Dixon arrived at the Belleville 1/2 mile race to win on Saturday August 16th! He joined Jeff Orosz, Tim Murray, Gary Moody, Terry Rideout and Jon Bennett who was riding with his broken ankle!!!

The day was split into 2 heats and a final.

HEAT 1:

The pack all had a good start into the race for corner one. Rob Dixon looked a bit slower than Jeff orosz and this was evident as Jeff Orosz pulled away to leave the field to stay in postion throughout the heat.

1st - Jeff Orosz / 2nd - Rob Dixon / 3rd - Terry Rideout / 4th- Tim Murray / 5th - Jon Bennett / 6th - Gary Moody

HEAT 2:

Rob Dixon had been working hard to get his set-up right and boy did he do it well! A cracking race from the gate from Jeff Orosz and Rob Dixon left the other riders catching their dust! Rob Dixon did so well until he lost the lead on the last lap as Jeff Orosz pushed too hard to resist any further. The speeds were amazing and to see these two riders pushing their limits was worth every penny of admission! Terry Rideout was lucky in his second ever 1/2 mile race as he was entering turn 1-2 when his chain came off and seized his back wheel! - He did a great job to control his self and avoid a serious problem.

1st - Jeff Orosz / 2nd - Rob Dixon / 3rd - Tim Murray / 4th- Jon Bennett / 5th - Gary Moody / 6th - Terry Rideout (DNF)

FINAL:

The crowd was poised to see a classic race as the riders took to the gate. Referee Kevin Robillard dropped the green flag and they flew into corner one. Rob Dixon continued where he left off in his amazing starts, but Jeff Orosz was waiting and pounced in mid turn to take the lead, he pulled away by a bike length and looked very smooth throughout the race. Jeff Orosz was nearly caught out by Rob Dixon's ducking and diving on lap 4 coming into the home run, but he held on to take a well-deserved win! Jon Bennett riding with a broken ankle was forced to pull up and slow down after hitting a rut on turn one allowing Gary Moody to come by. Jon managed to finish the race but was in extreme pain. Such a great sportsman! Terry Rideout and Tim Murray also enjoyed a battle behind the front crew for a few laps, but with his chain now secured tightly, Terry Rideout gained the third place position.

1st - Jeff Orosz / 2nd - Rob Dixon / 3rd - Terry Rideout / 4th- Tim Murray / 5th - Gary Moody / 6th - Jon Bennett
