Visiting riders Harland Cook and Dean Felton from Sittingbourne won the Silverline Best Pairs at Plymouth’s St Boniface Arena on Friday evening.
They clinched the title by one point from Plymouth skipper Seemond Stephens and partner Jason Prynne. Devils reserve Paul Starke and Gary Cottham of Rye House were a further point adrift in third place.
Stephens and Prynne were denied the opportunity of winning the event with Stephens suffering a couple of mechanical failures in his opening two races.
Simmonds was the top individual scorer, winning all five races, but lacked support from partner Danny Stoneman, who contributed only two points.
