It was hoped that skipper Shane Parker would be returning to the Tigers team this weekend but after consultation with the medics, that comeback is being delayed for a bit yet. Instead the Tigers will once again rely on guests for the trip to Workington and the home meeting with Sheffield. Team Manager and Co-Promoter Stewart Dickson has been studying the form as the team look to continue their excellent run of form:
"I am more than delighted with the way the team are performing at the moment but we still must choose wisely with regard to the guests for the two meetings. However I don't think there is a better option for the home meeting that Stoney and he will once again fill in for this one. I will also make a small change to the riding order for Sunday, more as an experiment than anything else but I think it is one that might just give us a little more balance in certain heats.
Sheffield have had tough time of things this season, especially away from home, but there is no doubt that they are a top class outfit and have plenty riders who are more than capable on our track. I think we will need to be at our very best to record another win and set us up nicely for the meeting with the Monarchs next Sunday."
TEAMS:
GLASGOW: Carl Stonehewer, Lee Dicken, Robert Ksiezak, Anders Andersen, Trent Leverington, Mitchell Davey, Josh Grajczonek.
SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, Paul Cooper, Ben Wilson, Kyle Hughes, Guest for Lee Smethills.
THE BEST OF THE REST:
Sheffield's Ricky Ashworth will guest for the Tigers this Saturday at Workington in the Premier League encounter. Ashworth starred for his team in an exciting meeting there earlier in the season. An update on Shane Parker should follow early next week as to his chances of returning in the meeting with Edinburgh the following week.
Sheffield will be forced to track a guest for Lee Smethills. It looked as though th Tigers had signed form Glasgow man James Birkinshaw but that deal fell through at the last minute so it will be a guest at number 7.
The Tigers have delayed their scheduled visit to Redcar by one week and will now visit there on the 21st of this month, the day after meeting Kings Lynn in Norfolk.
Former Tiger David McAllan is now revealing some details of his farewell meeting on Sunday September 7th. Rusty Harrison is the latest name to join in on what should be a cracking day. The latest addition will see Simon Stead turn out in the meet and a Glasgow legend is expected to be revealed in the not too distant future, however the organisers of this meeting are remaining tight lipped as to who that might be.
Glasgow Speedway are delighted to announce a hotel partnership with the Jurys City Inn in Glasgow, more details will appear in future bulletins. The club would like to thank Paul Bray for his support in this partnership.
Supporters are reminded that the start time for this weeks meeting is 4.00pm.
THE "BUILDBASE" GLASGOW TIGERS WOULD LIKE TO REMIND SUPPORTERS THAT ALL ACCOMPANIED CHILDREN UNDER 12 ARE ADMITTED FREE OF CHARGE EVERY WEEK AT ASHFIELD.
The referee for Sunday's meetings will be Dan Holt.
