CHRIS Van Straaten has sung the praises of new Wolves signing Jesper B Monberg.
Monberg, formerly known as Jensen, scored 3+1 on his return to the club in Monday's thrilling win over Swindon at Monmore Green.
And the Wolves owner has revealed how Monberg could easily have pulled out of the meeting after a nasty spill in Poland the day before.
"Jesper could have missed the meeting because of his injuries," said Van Straaten. "But he knew we could only have replaced him with a junior rider as he hadn't raced for us yet this season.
"His back was black and blue and he was uncomfortable sitting down - I think that suitably describes a tender area of his injuries - and yet he rode through the pain barrier for us.
"He also had unfamiliar equipment, which he's working on for next week. He deserves great credit for his determination."
