COVENTRY Buildbase Bees can confirm they have agreed terms for Danish World Cup winner Hans Andersen to join the club.
The Bees are hopeful that Andersen will be able to make his debut in their next Elite League fixture at Peterborough next Thursday, although his signing cannot be confirmed at this stage.
Andersen is currently serving a 14-day ban imposed by the sport's authorities to enable the Panthers to attempt to solve the financial difficulties which led to him withholding his services due to unpaid wages.
That ban is expected to expire on Monday, which would allow Bees the necessary three days to re-declare their team in time for Andersen to ride against his former club.
Bees were given permission by the Panthers to speak to Andersen last week, and personal terms have been concluded with Andersen keen to join the club.
Negotiations are set to continue between owner Allen Trump and his Peterborough counterparts as to whether the deal becomes a full transfer or a loan.
Trump said: "I'd love to have Hans in our team, and I really hope this comes off. He's a good gater, he's aggressive and I'm sure he would do an excellent job for us."
The Buildbase Bees can also confirm that at this stage none of their present riders have been released, and the move can only take place when Peterborough agree to release Andersen from their line-up having satisfied themselves that they have a replacement. It must also be sanctioned by the BSPA.
