Last year a great crowd packed in to see speedway bikes hit the Monroe County Fair in Henrietta, NY only to sit through a good flat-track program and then a long bus derby before the speedway program got rained out.

This year rain hit again but fortunately it was in the afternoon and not evening and a successful speedway show got off the ground at the new 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile combined facility at the fairgrounds.

Due to a time shortage, the division one and support programs were shortened to three heat rounds plus A and B finals.

In the first heat races for division one the track was quite tacky from all the rain that came down during the afternoon but the guys did a nice job of making a show out of it. Mikey Buman was able to work his past  Dave Clark  early on for the win in race one. Tuff McBride followed closely behind to take second with Clark. The second heat started off with Katalin Davis looping her machine on the sticky surface and having to withdraw from the meeting with a sore neck and head. Veteran local rider, "Mean" Gene Bonsignore, outgated the field on the restart and rode smoothly to a victory. Dee Holden was second and Josh Carr came third.  Casey Donholt closed out the first heat round with a three point haul over Adam "Missile" Mittl and Aaron Hesmer.

In the first go at Support A class racing, local favorite, Goody Goodman took the checkered flag over "Jammin" Jeff Garlinghouse. Mark "Battlescar" Bradley was a close third with Dee Holden in fourth and Shawn "Steamboat" Engel in fifth. When the Support B racing took off it was "Dangerous" Dan Harbst who stole the show with his crazy outside line antics but the win went to Cole Farwell.

Tuff McBride began the next round of heats with a bang by winning over Bonsignore. Hesmer also got his first win when he held off the charges of Mittl and Buman scored his second win by taking down a hard charging Donholt. It was Goodman who remained undefeated in Support A and Farwell who again took a win in Support B.

When the final heat round opened Donholt found himself out front but suffered bad luck when his motor went away which opened th door for another Hesmer win. Carr was third. Buman won his last heat over Mittl with Clark third.  McBride had to make a nice outside pass on lap three to overtake Bonsignore  for three more points  in the last heat of division one.

In the Support A Main,  Goodman put on a clinic much to the approval of the audience. On lap two he was all the way back in fourth but began picking off riders one by one. On lap three he was challenging  for the lead  but still had to set up Bradley and did so in classic fashion up the inside of turn four on the last corner for the victory!  Bradley was second with Holden third, Engel fourth and Garlinghouse fifth. Farwell won the Support B feature.

Casey Donholt won the B-Final quite easily with Clark second and Carr taking third.

Adam Mittl drew the pole for the A-Final with Hesmer to his right in gate two. McBride had gate three with Buman in four and Bonsignore getting five. When the tapes rose it was Mittl who exploded out front. He rode a nice, tight inside line with great speed and was able to pilot his Justice Brothers/JBR/Cole Construction/Sopranos Rest/NGK Plugs machine to the win in round three of the NYS Championship at the Fair. Hesmer did well to finish second. Buman took third with McBride fourth and Bonsignore fifth.
